Earlier this year, Mark Wahlberg hit the cover of Men's Health and shared how he was adjusting to the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic. This largely meant more family time at home and a later wakeup than his infamous 4 a.m. daily routine—but still plenty of time spent in the gym training. Lots and lots of time.

Now that several months have passed, some of the circumstances that made the front half of 2020 so uniquely challenging have changed. One thing that hasn't, though, is that Wahlberg is still maintaining a consistent fitness and training routine. The actor just shared video proof on Instagram, posting a clip of himself performing a solid round of strict pullups in an empty training space.

Wahlberg's form for the exercise is nearly flawless—there are no half reps going on here. His back and shoulders are engaged, and he pulls his head over the bar without a kip in sight. The only potential knock on his reps is that he's moving fast, and doesn't take a moment at the top and bottom of the movement to really engage his muscles or fully extend his arms (that, and wearing gloves won't do any favors for your grip strength).

But we don't know what his goals were for the workout, which variation of pullups he was doing, or what point of the set he was at when he filmed the clip. Due to those factors, he still gets a pass.

Notably, when Wahlberg turned around to hit a biceps flex after the set, he revealed that he was wearing a face mask.

His face was covered even though no one else was in the room (aside from whoever was recording him, presumably). While the clip didn't have audio, his message was loud and clear: be safe and smart when you train, and wear a mask to protect yourself and others.
