Mary-Kate Olsen and Olivier Sarkozy’s divorce has been messy from the jump. Ever since Mary-Kate requested that her divorce papers be emergency filed, things have only spiraled. "It’s gotten very ugly between them, a source previously told E!, adding that the divorce is now “heated” and Mary-Kate wants to be “done with constant drama.” But now we’re getting additional deets on why things may have gone so sour.
According to a People source, Mary-Kate had babies on the brain and Olivier wasn’t down with it. “A few years ago, having a baby was not a priority for her. This has changed,” the source said. “Olivier has two grown kids and doesn’t want more. Mary-Kate thought he would budge on that and he hasn’t.”
And on top of that, Mary-Kate and Olivier’s lifestyles majorly clashed. “Olivier is a party boy and a big spender,” a second source said. “He loves the high life.” Mary-Kate, on the other hand, is pretty different. “Mary-Kate prefers to be quiet and alone and doing the things she likes. She’s not that interested in socializing—she likes small gatherings with select people. They ended up being apart quite a bit,” a third source added.

According to Us Weekly, Mary-Kate wanted to file for divorce much sooner than she did but was forced to make an emergency divorce petition.
