It's been 25 years since Mary J. Blige released her iconic second album My Life. To celebrate, Mary J. Blige is returning to her MAC roots as the new face of the brand's Viva Glam campaign, also celebrating its 25th anniversary as well, to debut her very own limited-edition lipstick.

The "Love Me" lipstick in French Silk is a universally flattering shade that comes in a soft pink hue with brown, peach, and pink undertones and a "lighter-than-air" texture that's super hydrating and pigmented. It's packaged in a nude and black gradient bullet-a nod to Blige's 1994 My Life album cover. While she was known for wearing a lot of deep browns and reds during her heyday, the singer admits she also can't pass up a good nude lip.

"I love a nude lip because it’s just effortless and it doesn’t fight with everything that’s going on,” Mary J. Blige said in a statement. “Even if you’re all glammed up, there’s something about a neutral lip that makes you look younger.”

MAC's Viva Glam campaign launched in 1994 in the thick of the HIV/AIDS epidemic and vowed to support those affected by raising funds towards the fight. Blige is no stranger to the movement, having fronted the campaign with Lil' Kim in 2000 and again in 2002 with Elton John and Shirley Manson.

“I still remember the first time I was a Viva Glam ambassador in 2000 and then again in 2002," she continued. "I chose to partner with Viva Glam because of its mission to bring awareness of HIV/AIDS in an altruistic way. This year marks a huge milestone of 25 years for both of us: For me, the 25th anniversary of My Life, and for MAC, the 25th anniversary of Viva Glam-so it was a great time to come together again."

The "Love Me" lipstick retails for $19 and will be available for purchase exclusively online at maccosmetics.com.
