Marvel's Spider-Man 2 for the PlayStation 5 is getting a major update that adds hotly anticipated features such as a New Game+ Mode. Insomniac Games announced the news with a post on Twitter, revealing that the update will drop on March 7, 2024.
“Our title update for Marvel's #SpiderMan2PS5 arrives next month and adds highly requested features like New Game+, new suits, and more!,” reads the post.

The PS5 sequel was released in October last year with some quality-of-life features suspiciously missing. Unlike the first game, the sequel did have a New Game+ mode or the ability to change the time of day in its free-roam mode. With how cool the Symbiote suit looked while swinging in the rain at night, many players justifiably voiced their concerns to Insomniac Games.
Even with some features missing, the game quickly rose to the top of sales charts by becoming PlayStation’s fastest-selling first-party game. The developer promised an update addressing these concerns releasing in early 2024 and it looks like that plan is on track. Despite suffering a major data breach, Insomniac seems to have bounced back and is gearing up to deliver the promised bonus content for Spider-Man 2 while working on its other games.

“We’ve heard your feedback and will be adding some highly requested features, including the ability to change the time of day, swap tendril colors, and replay missions - just to name a few!” reads a post by Insomniac Games regarding new updates.
Insomniac is currently working on Marvel’s Wolverine, which takes place in the same universe as the Spider-Man games, along with a bunch of other unannounced projects. The developer hasn’t announced any major expansions for Spider-Man 2, but hints of Daredevil’s existence in the game suggest we may see the wall-crawler teaming up with Matt Murdock in the future.
