Fans of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel have been eagerly awaiting new episodes to binge-watch for nearly a year. And just days away from the release of Season 3, star Caroline Aaron says that fans will not be disappointed.

Aaron, who plays Shirley Maisel, the over-the-top mother of Joel Maisel, shared some details on the upcoming season with Woman's Day. The season as a whole, she says, is going to knock the proverbial socks off of audiences.

"I’m completely knocked out by our creators because they have out done themselves this season," Aaron said. "It gets bigger and bigger."

This season, she says, the show is moving into the '60s, which alone brings with it plenty of changes. But we'll also get to see the titular Midge Maisel venture out beyond the confines of Manhattan as she takes her stand up routine on the road, opening for singer Shy Baldwin.

"She starts to be more a part of the world," Aaron said. "Always with the pull of her family trying to bring her back close to home. I’m really excited for you to see how the Weizmans and Maisels deal with her absence."

One of the many amazing aspects of the show is the stunning costumes and set designs. Even a passive viewer can't help but notice that an extensive amount of research and work goes into every piece down to the last Shabbat dinner fork. Aaron, who joked that she'd love the production designers to redo her own home, said that coming to set every day over the past few years has felt like being transported right back into the '50s and '60s.

"I often say I’ve been on a lot of sets in my life but this one is like going back in time," she said. "The costumes are so authentic and all made by hand. Everything is custom made."

Since it first aired back in 2017, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has picked up a number of awards, winning both a Golden Globe and Emmy for best comedy series, as well as a Screen Actors Guild award for the best ensemble cast in a comedy, just to name a few. The show's leading lady Rachel Brosnahan has also snagged a Golden Globe, Emmy, and SAG award for her incredible work on the show. All of the accolades, from audiences and the television industry itself, were both amazing and entirely unexpected, Aaron said.

"I don’t think any of us have ever been in this kind of a hit, I mean it is really something else," Aaron said. "It’s amazing, just amazing. And we can’t believe it. We’re still pinching ourselves, we really are. Tony [Shalhoub], who I’ve been friends with for 30 years, I said to him 'Did you know this was going to be such a hit?' — because he was the first one who signed on. He went ‘No. Who could have known this?’ It’s just too surprising. I’ve never really said this to anybody before because I feel like you’re not really supposed to, but I feel like I’ve been invited into somebody else’s dream and I’m so happy to be there."

Season 3 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will stream on Amazon Prime starting December 6.
