'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' Fans, Here's What Amy Sherman-Palladino Said About a Reboot

When The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel first premiered on Amazon Prime Video in 2017, no one could have expected the show to be such a hit.

The story follows Miriam "Midge" Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan), a 1950's divorced New York housewife who accidentally discovers she has a penchant for stand-up comedy. Along with her manager/sidekick Susie Myerson (Alex Borstein), her ex-husband Joel (Michael Zegen) and their families, she eventually makes her way toward chasing the dreams.

As the dramedy continued to garner success, it also came with a multitude of accolades for the show's cast and crew. But in April 2023, fans were disappointed when the fifth and final season aired, with the final nine episodes wrapping up a tale that spanned the course of six years. And because The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel continues to be recognized, it's no surprise that by the time the 2023 Emmy Awards rolls around, folks will want to know if there's a potential season 6 on the horizon.

Will there be a season 6 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel?

As much as we'd all love to see more from Midge, we have some bad news for you. After five seasons of airing on Amazon Prime Video, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel won't return for season 6.

The news of the show ending after season 5 actually came around two years back in February 2022.

"Season 5, and step on it. 🚕," read the official Instagram announcement. "We’re excited to announce Mrs. Maisel will be back for a fifth and final season!"

What's more, when Rachel filmed her final scenes in the titular role in November 2022, she couldn't help but reflect on how much being on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel meant to her.

"That’s a series wrap on The Marvelous Mrs Maisel," she emotionally wrote on Instagram. "This thing was lightning in a bottle. A cast, a crew and creators who got to time travel for 5 years together. It changed my life. I’m eternally grateful. I’ll have more words later, but for now … Thank you and goodnight."

Despite the fact The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel won't be returning, show co-creator Amy Sherman-Palladino told The Hollywood Reporter never say never. Given how she and partner Daniel Palladino received a reboot of their hit series Gilmore Girls, she shared it's always a possibility to get a revival for this show too.

"I think it’s too early to think about anything," she revealed to the outlet in March 2022. "I don’t know about a reboot, I don’t know why we would do that, but I don’t know. For the rest of our lives, we’ll want to be in the same room with this cast and this crew. But whether or not that’s at a bar or there’s a camera running, I have no idea."

Well, we'll just sit here and have our fingers crossed for this to happen!
