Marvel Drops Trailer for New Series ‘Echo’ (And Offers a Warning if You’ve Got Kids)
Your kids might love the Spider-Man movies, but the newest TV series from Marvel could be a little beyond their maturity level, depending on their age.
On Friday, November 3, Marvel Studios dropped the trailer for Echo, a brand-new original series which will arrive on Disney+ and Hulu on January 10, 2024. But for the first time ever, this trailer included a special message at the end of the clip, which stated, “Set your Disney+ profile to TV-MA to stream.”
Based on the comic book character of the same name (who first appeared in a Daredevil comic in 1999), this series focuses on Maya Lopez AKA “Echo,” a deaf member of the Choctaw nation who finds herself under the guidance of the villain Kingpin.
Echo is being portrayed by Alaqua Cox, who first played the part in the Disney+ series Hawkeye in 2021.
This miniseries follows the events of Hawkeye, with Echo returning to her hometown in Oklahoma and trying to reconnect with her roots and her family.

However, that may be easier said than done, as evidenced by the trailer, which features car crashes, burning buildings, fist fights and more. (Needless to say, if you don't like violence, you might wanna steer clear of this series.)
“You have so much pain in you,” Kingpin (played by Vincent D'Onofrio) says in the clip. “So much rage...that you can't contain it.”
Echo was created by Marion Dayre, who is best known for writing episodes of the Emmy-nominated series Better Call Saul. Along with D'Onofrio, other stars include Chaske Spencer (The Twilight Saga), Tantoo Cardinal (Killers of the Flower Moon), Graham Greene (The Green Mile), Cody Lightning (Smoke Signals) and Charlie Cox, who will reprise his role as Daredevil.
Stream all five episodes on January 10, 2024.
