New Marvel Comics: The Original X-Men Are Back

The holiday season is almost upon us, and while most of the world starts to crawl to a slow pace, Marvel Comics is still pumping out hits.

This week sees the release of a number of comic book titles across the country and the world, both physically and in Marvel Unlimited, the company’s digital comics app, which usually lags a little behind the physical releases.

This week’s new Marvel Comics releases sees two new X-Men series starting: Original X-Men and Rom and the X-Men: Marvel Tales 1. The latter there is a compilation, and marks the first time that Rom the Spaceknight’s interactions with the X-Men have been reprinted, which is exciting for fans.

Original X-Men, on the other hand, is an all-new story featuring the original 5 X-Men – Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Beast, Iceman, and Angel – as they travel through the multiverse to solve a mystery. This week also sees the release of Star Wars: Revelations, a comic book with a number of canon stories.

Elsewhere in the Marvel universe, the Gang War event continues in The Amazing Spider-Man #40, Wolverine #40 will see Logan teaming up with Spidey to take down the sentinels, and Spine-Tingling Spider-Man – the horror series written by Saladin Ahmed – finally gets its third issue. It’s a Spidey-heavy week.
