New Marvel Comics: Mace Windu, Madripoor, and Moon Knight

Welcome to February! It’s the shortest month, but that doesn’t mean Marvel isn’t going to be pumping out comics at breakneck pace. January was a fairly quiet time for new comics, but in the coming weeks and months we should see the pace pick up a little bit as Marvel and DC start to expand their marketing budget in the post-holiday season.

We’ve got a pretty great week ahead of us in Marvel comics this week, starting with Star Wars: Mace Windu, a new comic series that tells the story of the eponymous Jedi portrayed by Samuel L Jackson in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. According to Marvel, this series is set before the Clone Wars, with Mace Windu going on a “treacherous path of mystery and action” alongside a pirate said to have a deadly secret. It sounds like a lot of fun.

Also coming this week is the start of Ultimate Black Panther, which sees the hero (and king) of Wakanda pushing back against Khonshu and Ra, who together form Moon Knight, as they attempt to expand their brutal regime across Africa. That’s alongside Wolverine: Madripoor Knights, which has Wolverine, Captain America, and Black Widow teaming up to take down The Hand.
