Find out how country superstar Martina McBride gets the perfect BBQ tang.

If there's anyone that knows how to achieve the perfect BBQ ribs, it's Martina McBride.

The country superstar—who has dabbled in the art of cooking for years—let her Instagram followers in on the secret of her homemade BBQ sauce, sharing the recipe alongside a how-to cooking tutorial video.

"I made ribs in the grill the other day. They were amazing!" the "A Broken Wing" songstress wrote on Instagram March 14, while sharing a narrated video of her assembling the tasty concoction.

"This homemade BBQ Sauce recipe is the one I've been making for over 30 years. There are a couple of steps I didn't film in the sauce recipe so read through carefully," she wrote. "Enjoy!"

In the clip, McBride, 56, first demonstrates how she rubs seasoning on the rack of ribs, before letting them sit for a few hours in the refrigerator to marinate.

McBride—who previously had a cooking show on the Food Network titled Martina's Table—cooked her ribs on a grill for the video, showing her followers the step-by-step process.

But it's the musician's special sauce that really makes the dish so delicious, so she shared a detailed breakdown of "Martina's Sweet Hot BBQ Sauce" in the caption of her video.

"You can tailor this recipe to your personal preference. Want it sweeter? Add more brown sugar (Which I ended up doing)," she wrote. "Want it spicier? Add more cayenne pepper. Or leave it out if you don’t like heat. You can customize however you want. One step I forgot to film is adding the slurry of cornstarch and water and whisking to thicken it up. I like a thick sauce so this is an important step for me."

Here's the full recipe from Martina McBride's Instagram Page:

  • 1 cup ketchup

  • 1 cup water

  • 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar (more to taste)

  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tsp. dry mustard

  • 1 tsp. chili powder

  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt

  • 1/2 tsp. smoked paprika

  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp cayenne (or more or less to taste)

  • 2 Tblsp. Worcestershire sauce (I like Lea & Perrins)

  • 1 Tblsp. Cornstarch

  • 1/4 cup water (for the thickening slurry)

  1. Add all ingredients up to the cornstarch (wait in that) to a small pan over medium heat.

  2. Cook uncovered about 10 minutes until sauce thickens slightly. If sauce is too thin whisk cornstarch into water, turn up the heat on the sauce, whisk in the cornstarch water mixture and whisk until thickened. You can repeat this step if you want it to be thicker

After completing the recipe, the country vocalist and cookbook author cut into the perfectly cooked ribs for the camera to see, before diving in and taking a bite out.

"Delicious!" she exclaimed.
