Martha Reveals the Three Essentials She Always Has Stocked in Her Kitchen

When it comes to finding ways to live the best life possible, we always turn to our founder for inspiration. Recently, Martha sat down with Us Weekly and shared the food items she always keeps on hand in her kitchen. So, what does it take to live—and eat—like Martha? Not surprisingly, her kitchen is always well-stocked with a variety of essentials sourced right from her own property.

"I always have organic fruits and vegetables from my garden, as well as fresh eggs from my chicken coup," she told Us Weekly. Martha keeps more than 200 chickens on her sprawling Bedford, New York farm, including a Cream Legbar, the heritage Barred Plymouth Rock, and the Barnyard Frizzle mix

If you want channel your inner Martha and raise your own chickens—thus ensuring you always have a ready supply of fresh eggs—our founder has some tips. "Poultry shows and country fairs are an easy way to meet experts, look at different kinds, and select the best ones for your needs. There are so many rewards from raising these birds. You get delicious eggs, and the joy of caring for them is great for you and your family," Martha wrote in the June 2019 issue of Martha Stewart Living.

But it's not just produce that Martha keeps on hand. She also makes sure that her bar cart is fully stocked with the best of the best. "I always have wine from Martha Stewart Wine Co., my curated selection of wines from all over the world," she said. From a 2017 French Sauvignon Blanc to an Italian white blend, a crisp glass is an entertaining essential.
