Marlon Wayans Has Strong Words for Ex Following Paternity Lawsuit

Marlon Wayans has directed some strong words at his ex after she filed a paternity lawsuit concerning the 1-year-old child they share.
The actor and comedian addressed the issue earlier this week while speaking with The Shade Room. Details included in the paternity lawsuit filed against him began spreading after court documents obtained by several news outlets outlined what Wayans’ ex, Brittany Moreland, proposed in terms of the child’s custody and the compensation she believes she should be awarded.
Multiple media outlets that have reviewed the court documents filed this week in California reported that Moreland, 34, suggested Wayans have visitation rights and that she be granted full custody of their daughter, Axl July Ivory Wayans. The White Chicks actor signed a document identifying himself as the father the day after she was born in December 2022, according to People.
Moreland has also requested that the Scary Movie actor pay for her legal fees and costs associated with her pregnancy and Axl’s birth, according to Page Six’s review of the documents.
But Wayans, 51, said he is already giving the “entitled” Moreland thousands of dollars every month to assist with their child.
“It’s the classic case of a good, loving, responsible father shelling out over $18k per month for a one-year-old, and an entitled woman decides she wants more,” the Wayans Bros. alum told The Shade Room. He contrasted Moreland with women who have “to drag men to court who pay NOTHING towards their children,” adding that he has two other kids and “never had this problem” before.
The comedian declared himself “a good man with a good heart and a strong sense of responsibility” and rejected what he called efforts to make him feel "used and discredited.”
Wayans also seemed frustrated by the idea of being limited to visitation rights as he again referenced the amount of money he said he was already giving Moreland. Now that the paternity suit has been filed, Wayans told The Shade Room that he plans to “let the lawyers and God do what they do.”
