We often think of billionaires as people with unlimited access to the world's most luxurious restaurants. But sometimes, they just want some McDonald's like the rest of us.

Mark Zuckerberg has been on a heavy McDonald's diet lately. The Meta CEO took to Threads on July 31 to detail his ideal order at the popular fast food chain. "20 nuggets, a quarter pounder, large fries, Oreo McFlurry, apple pie, and maybe some side cheeseburgers for later," he said.

MMA fighter Mike Davis, who also happens to be Zuckerberg's friend, reminded the tech executive that he's in the middle of training to prepare for a possible fight with Elon Musk. "You're in camp!" he wrote in response to Zuck's order. "No McDonald's."

Zuckerberg countered by pointing out that he needs about 4,000 calories a day just to maintain his weight throughout this training regime. "Not cutting weight so I need ≈4000 calories a day to offset all the activity," he said, adding, "And it's so delicious."

By our math, the meal above comes to around 3,000 calories before the "side cheeseburgers for later" are added.

Zuckerberg described his workout schedule in a recent interview on The Lex Fridman Podcast. A typical week for him consists of four jujitsu and MMA sessions, strength and conditioning work, and mobility training. He's been working with UFC stars to get his physique in top fighting shape.

The Meta CEO is far from the first athlete to consume an eye-popping amount of calories to sustain a high level of training. Olympic champion Michael Phelps, for example, famously said he consumed 10,000 calories a day through pasta, energy drinks, and pizza to maintain his energy in the pool. Zuck is no Phelps, but he has been public about his intense physical training lately, appearing to viewers as a dedicated Olympian in training.

Musk has been busy with X's rebrand, but Zuck appears ready to enter the ring at any given time.
