“It ain’t about the GMT, it’s about the shoe,” Mark Wahlberg says. Respectfully, we have to disagree.

The American actor recently took to Instagram to show off a pair of Nike sneakers Fat Joe designed, but it was the Rolex on his wrist that piqued our interest. Marky Mark appeared to be wearing a sleek new iteration of the GMT-Master II that the Crown unveiled earlier this year.

Reference 126718GRNR ($32,800) is still the same reliable travel watch collectors have come to know and love but has a few new features that set it apart from its predecessors. Most notably, the bezel is made of Cerachrom (Rolex’s proprietary ceramic formula) and showcases a two-tone black and gray colorway. (For the unversed, the original GMT-Master that debuted in 1995 was equipped with an aluminum bezel.)

The black dial is topped by big hands and simple hour markers that have been filled with a luminescent material for exceptional legibility in all circumstances. In addition, a 24-hour hand displays the “home” reference time in a first time zone that can be read via the graduations on the bezel. The local time is set by “jumping” from hour to hour using a mechanism operated via the winding crown. (The hour hand can be adjusted forwards or backward independently of the minute and seconds hands.) This allows travelers to adapt to their new time zone without affecting the precision of their timekeeping.

Beyond the face, the 40 mm case is crafted from 18-carat yellow gold. So is the Jubilee bracelet, the Oysterlock clasp, and the Easylink comfort extension link. The watch also contains the Caliber 3285 which was introduced in 2018. The new generation of GMT movement features a magnetic-resistant Chronergy escapement and other improvements that add up to a 15 percent gain in accuracy, according to the brand. It has a 70-hour power reserve compared to 48 hours for the previous movement.

Wahlberg showed off the wrist candy and his new kicks in a short Instagram video that was shared on Monday. It’s not the first time he has pulled this kind of stunt, either. In September, the A-lister flexed a special Le Mans Daytona that was released in the summer with another pair of Air Force 1s from Fat Joe. It is most definitely about the Rollies, Wahlberg.
