Mark Wahlberg showed Jimmy Fallon how he makes his own cold plunge anywhere he goes. The actor was appearing on The Tonight Show to promote his upcoming movie The Family Plan, which premieres December 15 on Apple TV+.

“Wherever I go, I do my cold plunge,” the long-time plunge devotee told Fallon. “If I go to a motel and my daughter’s doing a horse show, we steal all the ice from the ice machines on every floor to fill up the tub.”

Once he learned Fallon had never even tried one, Wahlberg brought out a special bathtub and a hearty supply of ice to coax his hesitant host into the water. “This is the last time you’re coming on the show,” Fallon quipped to Wahlberg ahead of his plunge.

“I tell you what,” Wahlberg negotiated. “If you’re brave enough to go in, I’ll go in with you. There’s room for two here. I might have to sit on top of you, though.”

Fallon turned down Wahlberg’s offer of a pair of briefs, instead climbing into the tub while wearing his full suit to appreciative cheers from the audience. “This is like the opposite of Hot Ones,” the SNL alum said between gasps for breath, as Wahlberg heaved a bucket of ice into the tub.

Wahlberg fulfilled his promise, plunging right in alongside Fallon. As the harried host tried to end the segment, the Boogie Nights actor calmly reminded him to breathe through the chill.

“It’s so good for you,” Wahlberg told Fallon of plunging. “It should be the first thing you do every single day when you wake up…You will be able to achieve whatever your fitness goals are if you start doing that.”
