Mark Wahlberg Channels His Inner Picasso to Sketch Costar Iliza Shlesinger

From Harper's BAZAAR

Costars Mark Wahlberg and Iliza Shlesinger are unearthing the Pablo Picassos within themselves in our latest episode of Portrait Mode. While answering questions about their new film, Spenser Confidential, they also put their artistic skills to the test by simultaneously drawing portraits of each other. The results? You'll have to watch the video to find out, but it's probably safe to say that the reviews would make any surrealist painter proud.

"We're gonna be drawing each other perfectly, anatomically correct to a T," says Shlesinger. Later, upon seeing Wahlberg's rendition of her, Shlesinger adds, "That's fine. You captured the nose, which is the most expensive part of me." Read on to see what else they have to say.

Were there any accidents while filming?

"The worst thing that happened to me was I had a clear earplug pushed all the way underneath my ear drum that was there for three weeks before I had even realized it," says Wahlberg. "And my head was swollen up like that. The perfect storm."

Who was the funniest person on set?

Schlesinger, after first naming herself, eventually gave the title to Alan Arkin. "One morning, we came into work and someone was like, 'Alan, how are you this morning, sir?' And he just went, 'Worse.'"

Wahlberg also gives an anecdote. "One of the funnier moments with Alan was Winston [Duke]—I think it was our first scene together—he comes to me and Alan, and he goes, 'Oh, what are you guys hoping to get from this scene?' And Alan goes, 'I want it to be over.'"

Schlesinger concurs, "That was the gist of him the whole time. He's like, 'I used to be an actor, I don't know what this is.'"
