NCIS is making it a family affair for Mark Harmon: His wife, Pam Dawber, is joining the cast for several episodes in season 18!

According to Entertainment Weekly, it’s going to happen soon, too. On April 6, Pam will start her four-episode arc alongside her husband’s character, Gibbs. She’ll play Marcie Warren, “a seasoned investigative journalist who uses her savvy wit and down-to-earth people skills to aid in her tireless pursuit of truth.”

It’s hard to say if she’ll immediately get along or clash with Gibbs at first, but we bet they’ll find common ground regardless. After all, season 18 has been tough for Gibbs with Sloane’s exit and his indefinite suspension. He also had to shoot McGee at one point and had the deaths of Palmer’s wife and Fornell’s daughter weighing on him. It hasn’t been easy! But here’s hoping Marcie makes Gibbs a little lighter.

If you can believe it, it’s actually the first time Pam and Mark have been on NCIS together. But Pam is no stranger to TV. She starred on Mork and Mindy back in the ‘80s, and was later on My Sister Sam and Life…and Stuff.

It’s definitely an interesting time to be joining Mark on the CBS procedural. According to EW, Mark’s deal with the network is up this year, and there’s a lot of speculation about whether he’ll return to the show full-time next season. That is, if it gets a season 19. Hey, NCIS: New Orleans got cancelled, so you never know!

But we’ll push all that negativity aside and just focus on how fun it will be to watch Pam and Mark together. Let’s hope it doesn’t end in any more tragedy for Gibbs!
