Mariska Hargitay Sparkles in Stunning Silver Dress for 'SVU' Anniversary Celebration

Mariska Hargitay was the star of the show, both on-screen and off, at the 25th anniversary celebration of Law & Order: SVU.

The cast and crew of the long-running crime drama gathered together at Edge at Hudson Yards in New York City on the evening of Jan. 16, 2024, and the lead actress brought her fashion A-game when she showed up to the red carpet draped in a glittering silver-sequined gown reminiscent of a disco ball.

The dress, which fell to just above her ankles, featured short sleeves and a tied neckline and hugged her to just underneath her hips, where it flowed out into a mermaid skirt shape.

She opted for a soft glam to go with it, wearing a light pink sheen on her lips and cheeks and leaving her hair down in voluminous waves.

At other points in the evening, she was also photographed with a plush white coat draped over her shoulders to keep warm amid the wintry chill.

Hargitay, of course, plays the longest-running character on a primetime drama series, while the series itself has also made history as the longest-running primetime live-action show.

When you're as intertwined with a character as Hargitay is Olivia Benson, it's easy to start tapping into bits of your fictional persona in times of need.

“There’s a thing WWOBD, what would Olivia Benson do? The fans would always talk about it, and one day it hit me," she shared in a recent interview with People. "I also have those moments where I’ve sort of slipped into her. If there’s a crisis, I just take over and lead like that," she added, referencing Benson's strength and fearlessness.

We can't wait to continue watching this remarkable pair's "parallel journey," as the actress calls it, as SVU premieres its 25th season on Jan. 18, 2024.
