Mariska Hargitay Shares That She Injured Herself Again in New Instagram Post

Fans are doing their best to keep Mariska Hargitay's spirits up after she posted about a recent ankle injury on social media.
On Monday, the Law and Order: SVU actress shared an Instagram photo of her right foot in a soft cast. “My summer look,” she wrote. The 57-year-old star also included more than a dozen hashtags in the caption, a signature detail seen all over her Instagram, in which she made light of her latest incident. “#specialankleunit,” she added.
According to Page Six, Mariska was leaving a screening of the upcoming Marvel movie Black Widow in the Hamptons when she tripped and broke her ankle on Friday. Per the outlet, she was supposed to host an afterparty at the home she shares with her husband, Younger actor Peter Hermann, in East Hampton. But she didn’t make it back in time after she was rushed to the E.R. in an ambulance.
“Mariska was rushing to leave the screening to welcome guests to her home and took a tumble on the slick rainy street outside the movie theater,” a source told Page Six. “She stayed [at Southampton Hospital] for several hours and ended up with a bandaged leg … Mariska was amazing. Rather than worrying about herself, she was more concerned that everything had gone well and that everyone had a good time at the party.”
Mariska has yet to confirm or deny this report.
Regardless, after seeing Mariska’s photo, thousands of fans flocked to the Instagram comments section to wish her a speedy recovery. “Oh Mariska I hope you feel so much better soon ❤️😢 [you’re] a fighter and you’ll be all better in no time. Wish you all the best ❤️,” one person wrote. “Oh no! I’m so sorry! Sending love & prayers for a quick healing ❤️🙏,” another added. “I hope you feel better soon love ❤️❤️,” a different fan said. “But yet you’re still standing! 👏😍 Just please be careful and look after yourself!” a follower commented.
This news comes only six weeks after Mariska suffered injuries to both her legs in May, which also landed her in the hospital. In an Instagram post, the NBC actress revealed that she had a broken knee, a hairline fracture in her ankle and a torn ligament. Thankfully, doctors determined she didn’t need surgery and she was released with a knee brace and boot.
Shortly after, Mariska thanked fans for all of their kind words. “Thank you so much for all of the incredible love and support everyone’s been sending me,” she said on IGTV. “Texts and emails and all the comments on Instagram. It has just meant the world and I want you to know that I’m fine, I’m fine, I’m fine! No surgery, thank god.”
