Mariska Hargitay is giving fans an important update after suffering multiple leg injuries.
On Thursday, the Law and Order: SVU actress shared an Instagram photo of herself after being discharged from the hospital. The 57-year-old star explained that she started going to the doctor as soon as she began feeling pain in her legs. It turned out to be pretty serious, as evidenced by her wearing a knee brace and boot.
“#ThatFeelingWhen, you go to the doctor, get an MRI and find out that you have a broken knee, a hairline fracture in your ankle, and a torn ligament,” she captioned the pic. “It’s always a good idea to go to the doctor. Immediately. Great news is I don’t need surgery🙏🏻 💃🏻.”
It’s unclear how Mariska was injured but she clarified that it wasn’t on the set of the NBC drama. “Thanks for all the love folks! Just so you know this is did NoT happen at work!” she added.
More than 10,000 fans have since flocked to the Instagram comments section to check in on Mariska. “Oh my God 😢😢😢😢 we hope you get better soon, Mariska!!! 🙏❤️❤️ Sending lots of love to you,” one person wrote. “Sending you so much love & prayers for a quick and painless healing!” another added. “You are such a bad--s! Shortly after, Mariska went on IGTV to tease what fellow costar Christopher Meloni, who plays Detective Elliot Stabler, had written in a letter he gave her while filming Law and Order: Organized Crime. But first, she thanked everyone for the well wishes.
“Thank you so much for all of the incredible love and support everyone’s been sending me,” she said in the beginning of the video. “Texts and emails and all the comments on Instagram. It has just meant the world and I want you to know that I’m fine, I’m fine, I’m fine! No surgery, thank god.”
Here’s hoping Mariska gets well very soon!
