Marie Osmond slams Meghan Markle's father for providing evidence against her in lawsuit: 'That's ridiculous'

Meghan Markle’s 2020 just got even more complicated. With seemingly endless headlines and conversations around the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s “step back” from their royal duties, Markle’s father is stirring up some drama of his own. The Daily Mail reports that Markle’s father, Thomas Markle, will be “called as a key witness” to provide evidence against his daughter to help the defense in a lawsuit filed by the Duchess against U.K. tabloid The Mail — the sister paper of the Daily Mail. The lawsuit alleges that the paper violated her privacy by publishing excerpts of a letter she had sent to her father. The co-hosts of The Talk weighed in, and Marie Osmond said Thomas Markle’s actions may be why Meghan has distanced herself from her family. “I think this is a really good example of why she may have alienated him,” said Osmond. “That’s ridiculous! It’s just very telling to me who he is,” she added.
