  • Marie Osmond is reportedly the next co-anchor to join The Talk.

  • Osmond has appeared as a guest host on the show recently, and TMZ reports that she's been tapped for a full-time gig.

  • Sara Gilbert announced in April that she is leaving the show, which she has co-hosted since its launch in 2010.

The Talk has reportedly found its replacement for Sara Gilbert. According to a new TMZ report, Marie Osmond, 59, has signed a deal to join the show and an official announcement is expect to follow on Tuesday, May 7.

A caveat here: TMZ is TMZ, so take this with a pinch of salt and keep in mind that nothing has been confirmed. But enlisting Osmond would make sense–she's guest-hosted the show recently, and per a source quoted by TMZ, "when she was on, the ratings spiked."

This would not be Osmond's first talk show. Back in 1998 she co-hosted Donny & Marie, a talk show that aired in syndication for two years, with her older brother Donny Osmond. More recently, she hosted her own show, Marie, which ran on the Hallmark Channel for a year from 2012 to 2013.

Gilbert announced on-air that she was leaving the show in April.

"I've decided that it's time for me to leave the show... I obviously love it here and, like I said, this was extremely difficult," she admitted through tears. "Last season I did The Conners and was also producing and I loved it and felt totally empowered but also, if I’m being honest about it, I think my life was slightly out of balance and I wasn’t able to spend as much time with my three kids as I'd like, or time for myself."

She concluded by promising that she will return to co-host in the future. "I love the hosts, I love the crew, I love the staff. I'm so grateful to the audience for letting me in your homes every day. It’s such an honor."

It's been a year of change over at The Talk. Prior to Gilbert's announcement, Carrie Ann Inaba replaced Julie Chen in January. If Osmond joins the show, the new lineup will consist of her plus Inaba, Sharon Osbourne, Eve, and Sheryl Underwood.
