Marie Kondo's New Book Helps You Find Joy in Your Work (Even from Home)

Life feels particularly chaotic and disorganized these days, and in times like these, we could really use some more Marie Kondo. Although we're still patiently waiting for her new Netflix show to drop, the launch of her newest book comes at the perfect time.

The book is titled Joy At Work: Organizing Your Professional Life, and it's available online now at many book retailers, as well as in some stores such as Target. This latest tidying guide applies the KonMari Method to your work with organizing advice for the office, whatever that currently looks like.

In an Instagram post announcing the launch, Kondo writes, "I know our jobs may look a little different right now, but this book will provide practical tips on keeping your space tidy and pursuing the work you love." It sounds like solid advice, even if (like many of us) you're working from a desk at home.

In addition to useful tidying tips, the new volume offers advice on finding a fulfilling, joy-sparking career. Co-written with organizational psychologist Scott Sonenshein, the book provides strategies that combat both physical and psychological clutter. According to the product description, it's intended to "help you overcome the challenges of workplace mess and enjoy the productivity, success, and happiness that comes with a tidy desk and mind."

When she first made a splash in the homemaking world, Marie showed us how to thank each old book, piece of art, or clothing item we once loved but no longer need. She also taught us how to stand up to the mountain of clothing in our closets once and for all. Her decluttering tips formed the KonMari method, which gained popularity across the world. On her Netflix show, Tidying Up With Marie Kondo, which launched in January last year, she visited families in their homes to give them a personal rundown of her method, and we watched as lives and relationships were impacted in a positive way.

Original Marie Kondo fans know that her organizational advice first debuted with her book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, which launched years before her Netflix show. She also had another hit book, Spark Joy, which dove deeper into her signature KonMari Method. If this latest book follows suit, it's going to revolutionize the workspace organizing game.
