Mariah Carey's Date Night Look Involves a Sequined Minidress and Rainbow Jacket

Mariah Carey is dazzling the celebrity street style scene.
On Sunday, the singer stepped out with her dancer boyfriend, Bryan Tanaka, to watch a screening of romantic comedy Bros in New York City. She wore an eye-grabbing head-to-toe sequined outfit. The glittering look was composed of a black sequined minidress, with the word "Bro" written in gold sequins and adorned with a red heart across the bust, plus a rainbow striped jacket. She paired the flashy attire with sheer black stockings and black platform stilettos with ribbon straps. Accessories included chunky gold earrings, auburn butterfly-shaped sunglasses, diamond bracelets, and a heart-shaped red lollipop.
Meanwhile, Tanaka looked cool and casual in a black bomber jacket with a red "25" embroidered on the chest. He layered the outerwear over a white T-shirt, slouchy light wash jeans, and white sneakers.
Last week, the pop star made another flashy fashion statement while getting inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
For the momentous occasion, Carey wore a strapless black gown by Oscar de la Renta. The nearly sheer dress, which was covered with shimmering silver appliqués, was paired with matching mesh opera gloves. She further accessorized with dramatic jewelry, including a matching diamond bracelet and necklace as well as diamond earrings.
The "We Belong Together" singer previously opened up about her getting-ready process in a December 2021 interview with Harper's BAZAAR.
"Getting dressed up is often quite painful," she said at the time. "I don’t think that people who have never done it, whatever the gender, will understand or could understand.… It’s really freaking hard. It’s not easy, darling."
