Mariah Carey Sells Engagement Ring for 2.1 Million
Remember when Australian billionaire James Packer proposed to Mariah Carey two years ago and gifted her an engagement ring worth $10 million? SAME. Well, apparently she went ahead and sold it for $2.1 million. Boy, bye!
"Mariah has been very vocal recently about her choice to move forward in her life surrounded by positivity," her publicist told Page Six. "That requires leaving emotional and material baggage behind, including an old engagement ring from an ex-boyfriend."
That said, Mariah's team are reportedly trying to keep a tight lid on the engagement story, and Page Six reports that they've "threatened the jeweler [who bought it] with litigation if he discloses her name."
FYI, if you're wondering why Mariah sold the ring for so much less than its reported worth, an "insider" says it's worth "way less" than $10 million.
