If “Honey,” “Heartbreaker,” “My All,” “Don’t Forget About Us,” and “All I Want for Christmas Is You” remain on your playlist year-round, this one’s for you.

Mariah Carey will be honored with the Icon Award at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards on May 1, an accolade that’s previously been given to Janet Jackson, Prince, Jennifer Lopez, and Celine Dion. And #Lambs (that would be the nickname for Mariah Carey fans, for the uninitiated) will definitely want to tune in, as the pop's most well-known diva is set to perform a live medley of her greatest hits.

At 49, Carey-who each year celebrates an “anniversary,” not a birthday-is one of the greatest American singers of all time, leading the Billboard Hot 100 chart each year in the ‘90s, and earning 18 number one hits on the chart.

This year’s Billboard Music Awards, scheduled for May 1, will be hosted by Kelly Clarkson from Las Vegas’s MGM Grand Garden Arena at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. While other performers and presenters have yet to be announced, top nominees include Cardi B, Drake, Post Malone, Travis Scott, Ariana Grande, plus Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.

Just this week, Carey made fans laugh with one of her signature, too-cool-to-care quips on Twitter. After a fan tweeted that the phrase, “I don’t like Mariah Carey” is a turn-off, she simply said, “Same.”

And earlier this month, Carey honored the anniversary one of her most successful songs, “Touch My Body,” by sharing the cover art from the single, which reached the number one spot on the Billboard charts in 2008.

We'll be tuned in on May 1 to sing along with the Lambily to all of Carey's hits.
