So it looks a lot like Mariah Carey is just as obsessed with The Crown as the rest of us are. Who can blame her?

Celebrating the release of season four on Sunday, Netflix sent the singing icon a red box full of royal treats including a bottle of whisky, a crystal decanter and a mocked up newspaper with Princess Diana and Prince Charles on the cover.

As she revealed the contents, Mariah put on her best British accent to promote the new series: "In honour of season four, we wish to offer a rare glimpse to the Iron Lady herself, Margaret Thatcher."

It's not the first time the singer has fangirled over the show, with Mariah revealing she was getting stuck into season 1 back in 2017 before later congratulating Claire Foy, who played the Queen in seasons 1 and 2, on her Emmys award win.

While the video has gone down a storm with Mariah fans, some have also pointed out that at the end of the clip, without a script to read from, the singer tells her followers to "go and watch season 1" rather than the latest season, prompting some to speculate whether she has actually watched the show past the first season.

"Listen, I don’t know what to say," she added. "If you haven’t watched The Crown, you are missing out. Go watch season 1, watch it through now. I don’t even do this kind of thing, I never do this. It’s the best, I can’t wait! I’m so excited!"

Either way, if she hasn't yet caught up on the rest of The Crown, we reckon she absolutely will now.
