Mariah Carey is going on tour, and this is a Christmas miracle
Listen up, people. Christmas just came early. Like, super early. Mariah Carey is going on tour this upcoming holiday season, and yes, 2019 is going out with a bang. We’re so excited that we literally feel like the rapid-fire piano chords in “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”
Pop quiz: How many years has it been since Carey debuted her now-classic Christmas album, Merry Christmas? If you guessed twenty-five, you’re correct—and yikes, has it really been that long? To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the holiday record’s initial debut, Carey decided to rerelease a “special deluxe anniversary version” of Merry Christmas and bop around the country on the All I Want For Christmas tour.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the deluxe anniversary version of Merry Christmas will be released on November 1st—the same exact release date of the original album 25 years ago. So obviously, this will be the first present under your Mariah-themed Christmas tree.
What makes this version of the album special? Two full discs with songs you already know, plus bonus never-before-heard live recordings of Carey.
As for the tour itself, according to EW, it will begin with a five-night residency in Las Vegas starting on November 22nd. Then, Carey will travel to audiences in Atlantic City, Washington DC, Connecticut, Boston, with a final show in New York City on December 15th.
The best part—you know, besides the fact that Carey is blessing us with her holiday cheer—is that the All I Want For Christmas tour has a charitable angle. $1 from every ticket sold will benefit Toys for Tots, a military organization that helps distribute toys to children in need. Concert attendees will also be able to bring an unwrapped gift to donate to the organization.
Carey’s fan club members can access ticket sales starting today, October 1st at 10 a.m. local time. The general public will be able to buy tickets on October 4th, at 10 a.m. local time via Live Nation.
It turns out that all we want for Christmas is to see Mariah Carey live in concert. Bring on the Carey Christmas cheer.
