The classic white button-up shirt gets a revival.

For Fall 2023, Dior takes a creative approach to classics.

Inspired by Édith Piaf, Juliette Gréco and Catherine Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri showcased the infinite versatility of wardrobe staples, without having to reach for eye-grabbing prints or bright colors. Instead, she sticks to a primarily black and white palette for autumn, reimagining staples like the button-up shirt and Dior's signature Bar jacket with easy, laidback styling. (The former is left halfway undone and tucked under a long skirt, while the latter is worn open with a bralette peeking through.) We also see new takes on other Chiuri favorites, such as the graphic statement tee and book tote.

This isn't to say there's no color across the 96 looks: We see purple-to-green ombrés, red tartans and deep magenta crystals that capture the light beautifully on a gown. Then, there was the enchanting backdrop against which the collection debuted, featuring hanging installations by Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos.
