If you're anything like us, Barbie has completely taken over your life. Everything we wear, eat and drink must be pink! The one and only Margot Robbie is starring as the titular character in the movie releasing on 21st July (so soon!) and we can't wait to see her channeling her BBE on screen. That's big Barbie energy, for the uninitiated.
But, aside from her on-screen beau Ken AKA Ryan Gosling, who is Margot Robbie's IRL husband? Here's everything we know about partner, Tom Ackerley.
Margot and Tom met on a film set
Margot shared that her and Tom first met while working on the film Suite Française in 2014. Speaking to Vogue in 2016, she said that she wasn't sure if he liked her back at first. As if!
She said: "We were friends for so long. I was always in love with him, but I thought 'Oh, he would never love me back. Don't make it weird, Margot. Don't be stupid and tell him that you like him.' And then it happened, and I was like, 'Of course we're together. This makes so much sense, the way nothing has ever made sense before'."
Tom was an extra in the Harry Potter movies
That's right, he got his start on the set of Harry Potter! On The Graham Norton Show, Margot shared: "My husband is in the Harry Potter movies. I was like, 'Had you told me sooner we would've been married very quickly.'
"But, he was an extra when he was a little kid. He was one of the Slytherin extras when Draco pushes some kids out of the way to see Buckbeak in the third book. He pushes my husband out of the way."
He's a filmmaker and director
Tom has a pretty impressive CV, working as an assistant director and producer on films including The Brothers Grimsby and Macbeth. Before that, he was a crew member for movies including Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Rush, and War Horse.
In 2014, he also founded the production company LuckyChap Entertainment with Margot and their friends Josey McNamara and Sophia Kerr. They produced films like I, Tonya, Dollface, Promising Young Woman and none other than the upcoming Barbie movie!
They married in secret
In December 2016, Tom and Margot tied the knot in a private ceremony on Australia's stunning Gold Coast.
The couple didn't publicly announce they were engaged before the wedding, and shortly after rumours started to swirl, Margot confirmed the news with a cheeky Instagram post giving her husband a kiss and showing off a ring on her finger.
They're a private couple
Apart from the odd comment in an interview or photo taken together, Margot and Tom are a pretty private couple. They both don't have active social media profiles – she deleted her Instagram and he hasn't posted for over a year, you can follow him here – and prefer to keep themselves to themselves. Fair enough!
