For Margot Robbie, orange truly is the new black.
The 29-year-old Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star hit the red carpet at the film’s U.K. premiere last night looking like a moving and breathing sunset in a burnt orange Oscar de la Renta gown. After wearing several white outfits (Chanel, Derek Lam and more Chanel) to promote the film, the brightly hued dress is a breath of fresh air.
As you’ll notice above, the Grecian-inspired chiffon gown featured a deep illusion V-neck, a gathered waist and an unexpected, flowy scarf.
The Oscar winner, who plays late actress Sharon Tate in the film, paired her sun-kissed look with Tabitha Simmons metallic strappy heels and a silver Edie Parker box clutch. She completed the ensemble with gold, diamond and pearl Chanel drop earrings and a chunky gold ring.
For her beauty look, she kept it laid-back luxe with subtle beachy waves (and a brand-new ombré hair color), a rose hued pout and burnt orange and aubergine eye shadows. The color block eyes shadows made her light eyes stand out even more than usual (take note, green and blue-eyed folks). She wore a similar shade of eggplant on her nails.
Although the getup was very fall in terms of color tones, it definitely worked.
Speaking of things that work, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood hit theaters this past weekend and has been crushing the box office. Director Quentin Tarantino’s ninth film was much buzzed about before it premiered thanks to its star-studded cast, which, in addition to Robbie, includes Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt. Suffice it to say, we can’t wait to watch it…whilst wearing orange, of course.
