Margot Robbie continued her pause from fashion promoting the Barbie movie at last night's Met Gala after parties. After the Chanel ambassador wore a black gown with a transparent corset on the Met Gala red carpet, she changed into a strapless black and white zigzag striped sequined mini dress for the post-event fêtes.

Robbie was photographed out in the city in the look, with her blonde hair styled down. She accessorized with a matching, black-and-white bag and black sandal heels.

Robbie spoke in January to W magazine about how she actually likes to crash parties, much like her Babylon character Nellie.

“Playing a crazy girl isn’t difficult for me,” she started with a laugh. “Back then, in the 1920s, there was more cocaine in L.A. than there is today. Thirty-year-olds were running the studios, and 20-year-olds were becoming millionaires. There were no rules—it was a completely new industry, and nothing was regulated. They had a lot of fun, a lot of partying. Nellie is at the center of that world. And she doesn’t wear a lot of clothing! One of the main costumes I wear in the film is overalls with no bra, no top, nothing—and no one loves dressing up more than me. Anytime I’m having a party, my friends say, ‘What’s the theme? We’re all going to have to dress up, aren’t we?’ Last year, I had a Love Island–themed birthday. Everyone had to dress as a contestant. There were a lot of fake tans, hair extensions, and acrylic nails.”

As for her own party crashing reputation, “Oh, I’ve crashed heaps of parties,” she said. “I crashed a wedding once, just to see how that would be. I had a great time.”
