Maren Morris is going for an edgier look with her new haircut!

The country singer debuted a new, shorter hairdo in photos on social media, with Morris rocking a cut ending right at her jawline. She paired the haircut with an equally edgy halter top, with the strap going around her neck made of a belt.

Morris captioned the post, shared on Instagram late last night, May 9, "get the belt 💣," going on to tag all of the hairstylists involved in the transformation.

The new look got plenty of appreciation from friends and fans, with actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth commenting, "I looove it!!" followed by, "Also where the outfit from!"

Julia Michaels also wrote, "WOW."

Morris' fans felt the same way, with comments like, "excuse me ma’am you did not have to pop off like that ❤️‍🔥," and "You literally can pull off anything 😍."

Quite a few people wrote about wanting to cut their hair that short as well, while one said, "Suddenly it’s 2017 again," referencing the period when Morris had even shorter hair.

It's possible that Morris cut her hair ahead of the ACM Awards, which will take place on May 11, though it's not yet clear if the star is attending as she was not nominated. Next month, the singer will join The Chicks on tour in Europe before they head back to the U.S. in the fall.

Morris' most recent album release was Humble Quest, which came out last March and earned multiple Grammy nominations. The 33-year-old revealed last month that she is hard at work on her next album.

She told Katie Neal at Audacy’s Leading Ladies event a little about the upcoming album's tone, saying, "I mean, it’s thus far pretty confessional and I mean, I feel like it’s a rock realm it’s going into. I don’t quite know what it is yet. They’re just demos, so I kind of find out when I get in the studio. But yeah, it’s super confessional.”

A few comments on her new photos questioned if Morris was moving into a pop-rock era of her music, so it fits, but fans will have to wait and see when the new album comes out!
