The 2021 Emmys took place in LA last night [19 September], with the best of TV's cast and crew taking to the stage to accept their awards.

Of course, the Emmys red carpet was once again awash with glamour, as you'd expect. However, some slightly more surprising moments went down throughout the night, with Evan Peters' shocking acceptance speech being among the standouts.

The Mare of Easttown star took to the stage to accept his first ever Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie, and while doing so he appeared to go on a huge rant over his MOE co-star, Kate Winslet.

At first, Evan's speech seemed pretty ordinary, with the actor beginning by thanking his family along with the producers and crew who worked on the series. Things then took a turn when Evan got to thanking Kate in his speech, shouting-slash-screaming that he wanted to thank "Kate Winslet for being Kate Winslet!"

Honestly, we'd get this excited about just the mention of Kate Winslet, let alone working with her, so fair enough to Evan.

Fans on Twitter were quick to react to Evan's iconic moment, with one writing, "Evan Peters yelling ‘Kate Winslet’ at his acceptance speech is seriously everything to me."

Viewers also managed to capture the moment in full, and you can watch Evan's speech in all its glory here:

Others took to Twitter to share their reactions, and it seems as though everyone relates.

We're yet to receive confirmation on a Mare of Easttown season two, though Kate Winslet recently revealed she would "love" to play Mare again. So, reckon we'll be seeing these two side by side on screen again soon? Here's hoping.
