Marché Holiday Market in Oakland to Feature Women-owned Brands

California clothing brand Frank & Eileen has made it part of its mission to support female entrepreneurs, with owner Audrey McLoghlin pledging $10 million over the next 10 years to nurture female leaders of tomorrow by supporting three grad schools and one prep school with scholarships, mentorship and more.

On Saturday, the brand built on reinvented button-down shirts for women will be the presenting sponsor for Marché, a holiday marketplace coming to Oakland featuring women-owned and women-led brands.

To be held at the historic The Bridge Yard, the event will welcome more than 50 brands from the Bay Area and beyond in the fashion, design, jewelry, art, beauty and culinary spaces. Goods on offer will include clothing from The Great, shoes from Freda Salvador, boho dresses and tops from Natalie Martin Collection, sleepwear from Haven Well Within, fair trade knits by Ozma, wreaths from Marigold, paper goods from Case for Making, glassware from Estelle Colored Glass, skin care products by Doré, jewelry by Ariel Gordon and more.

“Marché is about more than shopping, it’s an opportunity to connect with women-owned brands that deserve to be known and celebrated. In a world dominated by big businesses, our goal is to bridge the gap, bringing these hidden gems to the forefront, making it easier for shoppers to discover brands they will love,” cofounder Betsy Sadler said in a statement.

Beyond shopping, there will be an exclusive gem drop from Starling, monogramming by Lindquist, art activities by Majo for children, holiday photo sessions, and Nurtured Brow appointments with the L.A.-based brow expert Kristie Streicher. Curated culinary and beverage offerings will include pizza from Norcina, wine from Sophie James Wine and Lorenza, and coffee and pastries from Flywheel.

“We created Marché to fill a gap within in-person shopping events and at a time when the traditional retail landscape continues to evolve and change. Marché is a chance to bring together a roster of elevated women-owned and women-led brands; those that are environmentally conscious, progressive and committed to making products that are long-lasting and responsibly made,” added cofounder Sarah Ewick.

The event will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and tickets are available on Eventbrite for $15 pre-sale, $18 at the door. Tickets for children 12 and under are free.
