The Marc Jacobs (Re)Cover Perfecting Coconut Setting Mist Is Like the Beach in a Bottle

The just-dropped Marc Jacobs (Re)Cover Perfecting Coconut Setting Mist is an ultra-fine mist that's great for a mid-day pick me up.

It may still be a cool (fine, frigid) 30 degrees outside, but I'm not about to let dipping temps deter me from switching up my skin-care routine for spring. Although I plan on lightening my load, I'm willing to make an exception for the just-dropped Marc Jacobs (Re)Cover Perfecting Coconut Setting Mist, which, after just a few days of use, has already earned its rightful place in my (semi-parred-down) routine.

The Marc Jacobs (Re)Cover Perfecting Coconut Setting Mist, one of the first skin-care products in the cosmetics brand's lineup, is a milky "micro-mist" made with "hydrating and delighting properties of Marc's favorite coconut water," including the coconut's alkalines, milk, and water, to moisturize, set a full face of makeup, and refresh skin mid-day, the brand said in a statement. (TBD on exactly which coconut water brand the designer swears by, though.)

What makes this mist different from other atomizers on the market is, well, everything. From inside the sleek, silver-accented bottle, the formula looks like the mixings of a piña colada. It's milky in appearance (and texture) and has the sweet, subtle scent of the salt water and coconuts. (God, just describing this spray reminds me that it's most definitely time to book a trip to the beach, stat.) Back to its texture, though: Described as a "micro-mist," the spray is so fine you'll need to bring the bottle at least four inches from your face to feel the full effect. And once you do let the mist hit, it's ah-mazing. Before writing this, I asked a handful of my colleagues to spritz on the mist, and I was met with the same elated reactions, "Oooooh!" "Oh, that feels so good!" "I need more!" (And while they certainly sound like lines from a porno flick, I promise they aren't—everyone really loved the mist.) Post-spritz, everyone's skin looked slightly dewier—and, call me crazy, but happier—which I'm chalking up to the tropical coconut aroma.

But the beachy mist isn't the only major coconut product in Marc Jacobs' summer Coconut Glow line. There's also a gorgeous gel-based highlighter, the Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter (another Allure editor fave) and the limited-edition O!Mega Bronze Coconut Perfect Tan, a coconut-scented powder bronzer (yes, it's actually scented, so sensitive skin types may need to tread lightly). If you're still digging the Marc Jacobs (Re)Cover Perfecting Coconut Setting Mist, you can shop it now on sephora.com for $39.
