MAPPA Will Continue To Animate ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’

Season two of Jujutsu Kaisen officially finished airing this week. At the end of the last episode, a short teaser was revealed, confirming that an anime adaptation is confirmed for the source materials’ Culling Game arc.

Despite rumors of mid-season cancellation following a surge of MAPPA animators expressing their fatigue and stress on X (formerly Twitter), Jujutsu Kaisen was able to complete its full season run without severe delays. The new announcement also reaffirms fans that MAPPA will continue to produce and adapt Gege Akutami’s highly-popular shonen manga.

While MAPPA is known for its successful and high-quality anime adaptions, the studio has been keeping itself incredibly busy throughout 2023 with highly-anticipated projects such as Chainsaw Man, Hell’s Paradise and Attack on Titan: The Final Chapters. It’s speculated by fans that with the alarming rumors that accompanied Jujutsu Kaisen’s second season, there will likely be a much longer break before the studio releases the next part. Alternatively, MAPPA may approach the Culling Game arc as an anime feature film, much like what they did with Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
