When you think of the Super Bowl, what is the first thing that comes to mind? All of the snacks, hopes for an entertaining and non-controversial halftime show, and Tom Brady. Brady, often referred to as the G.O.A.T, or "Greatest of All Time," is arguably one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. No one would have guessed that 44-year-old Brady, a sixth-round draft pick in 2000 (199 overall), would create such hype—but his record speaks for itself.

How Many Super Bowls Has Tom Brady Played In?

Winning his first Super Bowl at age 24, Brady has played in nine Super Bowls with the New England Patriots, winning six of them (Super Bowl XXXVI, XXXVIII, XXXIX, XLIX, LI, LIII). During those nine Super Bowls, Brady has won four Super Bowl MVP awards (Super Bowl XXXVI, XXXVIII, XLIX, and LI).

Brady's tenth Super Bowl was Super Bowl LV, but it wasn't with the Patriots—it was his first Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brady led his team to victory on Jan. 24, 2021, defeating the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game. Tampa Bay made history as the first team to play in the Super Bowl at their home stadium on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021, when they defeated the Kansas City Chiefs to get Brady yet another Super Bowl ring.

How many Super Bowl rings has Tom Brady won? 

Winning a total of seven championships, Brady, 45, has led the Patriots to all of their World Championships. They are now tied with Pittsburgh Steelers for the most Super Bowl wins of all time (six).

  • In 2002, Brady led the Patriots to their very first Super Bowl Victory. The Patriots threw football fans for a loop when they defeated the heavily favored St. Louis Rams, 20-17. Brady had begun that season as the backup to Drew Bledsoe, but he became the starter when Bledsoe suffered an injury against the NY Jets early in the season.

  • In 2004, the New England Patriots beat the Carolina Panthers 32-29. The Panthers were making their Super Bowl debut, while the Patriots were seeking their second Super Bowl title in three years, thanks to Brady.

  • In 2005, in a close scoring game, the Patriots beat the Philadelphia Eagles 24-21, making this the third Super Bowl win for the Patriots in four years. Brady kept the score close throughout the game, with a score of 14-14 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

  • In 2015, Brady won Most Valuable Player (MVP), after defeating the Seattle Seahawks, 28-24. This was the Patriots' first Super Bowl win in 10 years.

  • In 2017, the Patriots beat the Atlanta Falcons, 34-28. Brady led an epic comeback in overtime, coming back from a 25 point deficit.

  • In 2019, the Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Rams in the lowest-scoring game in Super Bowl history, 13-3. This was Brady’s sixth win with the Patriots.

  • In 2021, Brady led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a 31-9 blowout victory against the Kansas City Chiefs, his first victory with his new Florida team. It was the Bucs' second Super Bowl win ever following a 48-21 win against the Raiders (then based in Los Angeles, now in Las Vegas) in 2003.
