How Many Of These Events From 2019 You Remember?

I know that 2019 may seem like a whole century ago due to the craziness that was the pandemic but in reality, it was just three years ago, and very memorable moments happened the entire year.
2019 was the last year we were free to do things such as going out with friends carefree, attending festivals and tours, and being in crowded spaces (I guess people are doing that now :/ ) without having to wear masks. For real historian nerds like myself, let’s see how many events we remember from 2019.
1.UCLA gymnast Katelyn Ohashi gets a perfect score.

This performance must be the most viral gymnastics clip of all time! Ohashi killed it, scoring a perfect score with an R&B, Funkadelic-influenced floor routine at the NCAA Collegiate Challenge Match. She did things with her body in that video that I know would cause me to tear body parts I never heard of.
2.A picture of an egg becomes instagram's most-liked post ever.

The year 2019 started off weird. In a matter of days, this post became the most liked post not only in Instagram history but in Social Media History. The post now has over 55 million likes as of today.
3.Ye's first Sunday Service.

Kanye West always pushing the barriers of the way we listen to music in this generation. On the first Sunday of 2019, We see Ye had the first “Sunday Service” rehearsal. The peak of Sunday Service in 2019 came at Coachella where the artist had the first public Sunday Service in April that featured DMX leading a prayer.
4.Two separate Fyre Festival documentaries are released.

The documentaries and uproar from the Fyre festival seem like it was another universe ago. It’s one of the rare times we see Netflix and Hulu produce their own documentary about the same thing so close to each other.
5.The beginning of the Jussie Smollett case.

7.The Jordyn Woods / Tristian Thompson Saga

Jordyn Woods controlled her narrative and looks like she is the only one, not a fool in this situation after it seemed like the Kardashians would do their best to silence her in 2019. This story was the early runner for juiciest story especially after Woods joined Jada Pinkett-Smith’s Red Table Talk. Fast Forward, Jordyn is in a beautiful relationship with Basketball Star, Karl Anthony-Towns, and well for Khloe and Tristan... ummmm, I'd rather not.
8.Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper make a splash at the 2019 Oscars.

Some describe it as Stunning or Romantic and I think the “Shallow” performance at the 2019 Oscars was truly “All of the Above”. The performance was the most viewed televised award show performance ever and I don’t see that breaking any time soon.
9.The Jonas Bros return to music.

The Jonas Bros returned, and they returned in style. They dropped an incredible single followed up by a wonderful version of Carpool Karaoke.
10.Queen Elizabeth II posted for the first time on Instagram.

I wanted to know who taught the Queen at age 92 to post on IG? This was such a funny moment to me because I couldn’t imagine my great-grandma trying to post some “heat” on the gram.
11.The College Admissions Cheating Scandal

Lori Loughlin, Felicity, and over 50 people were charged after Loughlin and her husband $500,000 in bribes to get their children into USC. She was sentenced to two months in jail and now back acting.

16.Beyonce performs at Coachella.

Just the GOAT doing GOAT things. Beyonce’s Homecoming to me is Beyonce’s “Stella got her Groove Back” but Stella never lost the groove in the first place and just wanted to stunt on these h*es. Just Greatness. Never going to be another Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter.

18.Prince Harry and Megan Markle have a baby.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed the world to Baby Archie and the world immediately seemed better. Archie is now a big brother and can’t wait to see the pics of when he’s more grown-up.
19.Rihanna become the first black woman to head a fashion house.

22.Disney's live-action remakes Lion King and Aladdin and the latest Toy Story movie are released one after the other.

Disney was blazing hot and a reason why is giving us two reboots and a sequel of three of their best movie series. Aladdin set the tone doing great in the box office. Lion King’s incredible cast and soundtrack stole the show and Toy Story 4 concluded Woody’s story arc in a top-tier emotional fashion.
23.Megan Thee Stallion's "Hot Girl Summer" becomes a phenomenon.

The saying of Summer 2019 was “Hot Girl Summer” No doubt. Meg’s stardom literally brightened every room she walked in and the Stallion could not be stopped. 'Hot Girl Summer' also became a song featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla Sign that showed a glimpse of Meg’s crossover talent that we see now.
24.Euphoria makes its TV debut.

In the summer of 2019, we saw a Gen-Z-based show led by actor Zendaya that took the world by storm. As deserved Zendaya won an Emmy and season 2 of the show premiered this year and was a must-watch every Sunday at 9 pm EST.

Apple TV+ went live at the beginning of November, but it was quickly placed on the backburner to fans' minds after Disney+ released its own streaming services with the anticipation of having all of our childhood favorite shows and movies all in one place.
