Manhattan car museum celebrates five years, unveils rare car to collection

MANHATTAN (KSNT) – An auto museum celebrated its anniversary Wednesday with a big unveiling.

Hundreds showed out to the Midwest Dream Car Collection in Manhattan to celebrate its fifth year of business. The catered event also featured the “Thundering Cats Big Band.” From old to new, the museum has over 65 cars in its collection. They added to that collection today by unveiling a 1948 Tucker 48.

“1988, Jeff Bridges played Preston Tucker in a movie that George Lucas produced called Tucker: The Man and His Dreams,” Midwest Dream Car Collection Executive Dir. Chris Gergeni said. “This is one of those cars. This one was in the movie, but it’s also one of the original 51 total produced.”

This car is now just one of 47 of its kind left in the world.
