The new store opening is part of Mango’s expansion plan for the U.K. market. The 13 new locations it plans to open this year will bring its total count to 66, including company-owned doors, franchises, nine department store corners with the John Lewis Partnership and four wholesale stores with Morleys Department Stores. Mango also runs an e-commerce site tailored to the British market.

The new doors will focus primarily in the south and center of the country in major cities that include Bristol, London, Manchester and Leeds. It also includes new cities, such as Brighton for the first time. Stores in Bristol, Solihull and Leeds opened earlier this year. New locations in Milton Keynes, Glasgow and London are still in the works.

“The United Kingdom is one of the key markets for Mango’s international expansion. Our arrival this year in cities we have not been present in until now and in some of the largest shopping centres in the country will consolidate the Mango brand and allow us to strengthen our position internationally,” Daniel López, Mango’s global expansion director, said.

The new Westfield Stratford City store, in one of the largest shopping centers in the U.K., has a selling space of 4,520 square feet that exclusively stocks the Woman collection. The upcoming store opening in Brighton at the Churchill Square shopping centre is larger at 5,059 square feet.

The UK stores feature the brand’s New Med concept inspired by classic Mediterranean living, using natural materials, such as ceramic, tuff, wood, marble, sparto grass and leather.

Last year, Mango opened stores in Glasgow Fort, Bluewater shopping centre in Dartford, Battersea Power Station in London, and in Newcastle at the Eldon Square shopping centre. The company been in the U.K. since 1999.

In December Mango opened its first New Med concept store in Singapore, and in January announced plans to triple its presence in India in two years, including the opening of its first Mango Man store in New Delhi.

Sustainability remains a key focus for the fast-fashion chain. Earlier this month, the high street retailer—as part of its Sustainable Vision 2030 sustainability strategy—joined the Pakistan Accord, the first expansion of the International Accord for Health and Safety in the Textile and Garment Industry outside Bangladesh. Mango was one of the initial signatories to the original Accord on Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh, a binding agreement to protect workers following the deadly  Rana Plaza collapse a decade ago.
