The 'Tangled' star shared a funny photo with her "close friend" Rapunzel, and her son was not amused.

In proving that even cool moms may not be that cool to their kids, accomplished singer and actress Mandy Moore had quite the interesting encounter on a recent visit to Disneyland.

With her two-year-old son, August “Gus” Harrison, in tow, the Tangled star reunited with Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder at The Royal Hall in Fantasyland recently. Moore took to Instagram to share the adorable moment — but the big brother of the family was reluctant to say the least.

“Gus isn’t interested in Tangled and really couldn’t care less that mom and Rapunzel are ‘close friends,’” Moore shared in an Instagram post. (‘Close friends’ is a term Disney uses for a person who portrays a character.)

Perhaps much like the character of Rapunzel, Gus, too, is unaware of his royal heritage. Moore voiced the lead character of Rapunzel in Walt Disney Animation Studios’ animated film Tangled, which received rave reviews from movie watchers and its characters are now showcased throughout Disney Parks. Tangled would go on to become one of the highest grossing animated films of all times.

But Mother knows best. The 39-year-old mom of two, Gus and 12-month-old Ozzie, with husband Taylor Goldsmith, kept her cool and was understanding in the situation.

“Now if I knew Lightning McQueen, that would be another story 🤷‍♀️.” Perhaps Moore should take the kids to Cars Land at Disney California Adventure Park next time.

Fellow singer and actress, Hilary Duff, also had an “epic day of happiness.” The 36-year-old, who recently announced she is expecting her fourth child with husband Matthew Koma, also took to Instagram to share photos from her family outing, including daughters Banks and Mae, at Disneyland filled with “happiness, joy, wonder, surprise, and calories.”

Donning a sequin Minnie Mouse ear headband, her family’s day included their own visit to The Royal Hall to meet Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder as well as rides on it’s a small world and King Arthur Carrousel.
