Mandy Moore Shoots Down That Morbid Disney Theory Connecting "Tangled" and "Frozen"

Some Disney fan theories get an A-OK from the stars and creators themselves (like the one suggesting that Anna and Elsa from Frozen are Tarzan's long-lost sisters). Then there are those that are swiftly vetoed.

One theory you can add to the debunked pile is the one connecting Tangled and Frozen. Because Mandy Moore - Princess Rapunzel herself - isn't having it.

An interviewer with TVLine laid out the gist for Mandy during a promotional stop for the new Tangled TV series last week: At the end of Frozen, you can spot Rapunzel and Flynn Rider at Elsa's intimate coronation ceremony in Arendelle, a kingdom many fans believe is in Norway. This pretty much confirms that the families are friends. We also know that Elsa and Anna's parents died in a shipwreck. The theory here is that the king and queen were sailing south to Rapunzel and Flynn's wedding in Corona - widely believed to to be on Germany's Baltic Coast - when tragedy struck.

Pretty dark, right?

Well, Mandy agrees. But she thinks it's way too dark to be legit.

"That's a pretty morbid fan theory - it feels like someone is really reaching to lost territory," she said. "There is no connection, as far as I know."

Check out the interview below.

Considering Tangled and Frozen take place in completely different time periods, perhaps Rapunzel and Flynn's cameo really was just an Easter egg. But hey, these are Disney fairy tales we're talking about! Who's to say time travel isn't involved?
