Mandy Moore, who immediately became your forever favorite the first time your young ears heard the opening bars of her epic jam "Candy," has most recently taken the world by storm as Rebecca on NBC's wonderfully tragic show, This Is Us. At Create & Cultivate's 100 list party, an event to celebrate 100 influential women that are breaking boundaries within their respective careers, Mandy talked to Cosmopolitan.com about Jack, Louie, and that damn "be my business partner" scene that emptied your tear ducts all over your face.

When asked what it was like to shoot the fire scenes, Mandy told me that, yes, the fire was real. "Yeah, it's crazy," she said. "The episode that is airing after the Super Bowl is insane. We had to shoot for three nights in the middle of nowhere. They rebuilt the house in order to be able to burn it, and it was intense to say the least. I'd never done anything like that before."

Of course, I had to test the waters with the Cosmopolitan.com theory that Jack didn't really die saving the dog, but instead perished going back to look for Kevin.

When asked if Jack realized that Kevin wasn’t home that night - I know, my hinting is so #sneaky and also #transparent - she told me, "[Jack] had no idea because [Rebecca] got that phone call where [Kevin] was like, 'I'm going to stay with Sophie,' and I don't think I relayed that to him." Interesting!

When asked what it was like to shoot the "be my business partner" scene, a.k.a. the scene that broke America's heart, she shared that it was "bittersweet."

"I think as we've edged closer to this particular period in this family's life and knowing what is right around the corner, it is so horrible," she said. "When I watched the episode ["That'll Be the Day"] the other day, I watched it with Milo and Sterling, and it's just so bittersweet knowing this couple's right on the precipice of this next chapter, and they're about to be empty-nesters, and it's heartbreaking."

You're telling me! I'm crying just re-typing Mandy's words from the interview. This Is Us might be the death of all of us via dehydration from buckets and buckets of tears. Worth it.
