There were a lot of ongoing subplots in the second season of The Mandalorian which remained unresolved at the end of last week's finale, from Bo-Katan's mission to reclaim the throne of Mandalore, to the fact that she now apparently has beef with Din Djarin because he is the current owner of the darksaber, the mythical weapon which had been wielded by Moff Gideon for the entirety of the show.

That particular conundrum will undoubtedly be addressed when The Mandalorian returns for its third season, but until then, fans have another question on their minds. Sure, we know that the darksaber can't cut through solid beskar, but what about the most iconic Star Wars weapon of them all? According to a new video on the Star Wars Comics YouTube channel, the darksaber is in fact be stronger than a Jedi's lightsaber—and apparently, that Mandalorian finale just proved it.

By the end of the second season, viewers had seen the Mandalorian's beskar spear used in duels against both a lightsaber and a darksaber. In "The Jedi," the Magistrate fought Ahsoka Tano and her twin sabers, and in "The Rescue," Gideon used the darksaber in battle against Din Djarin's spear.

In that climactic duel between Gideon and Djarin, the darksaber appears to overheat the beskar staff when pressure is applied, while in Ahsoka's fight with the Magistrate, her lightsabers had no effect on the metal. This definitely seems to suggest that if a Mandalorian wielding the darksaber were to ever go up against a Jedi with a lightsaber, the darksaber could put them at a distinct advantage.
