The Man That Went Viral For Licking Blue Bell Ice Cream And Putting It Back On The Shelf Is Facing Jail Time
By now, you may have forgotten about the trend that hit the internet in the summer of 2019: It pretty much involved people just going into stores, opening tubs of ice cream, licking them, then putting them back on the shelves. Well, one of the men to post such a video is facing jail time which should really serve as a lesson to all future internet trolls.
D'Adrien L'Quinn Anderson from Port Arthur, TX, was sentenced to 30 days in jail and two years probation, according to 12NewsNow. Anderson was also issued two fines, one $1,000 fine and another $1,565 to Blue Bell Creameries directly, Newsweek reported. In the video, he opens and licks a Blue Bell ice cream container, so the company had to take it upon themselves to replace all of the products in the freezer.

The incident happened back in August and Anderson pleaded guilty to a class A misdemeanor charge in January. The original video was posted to Facebook and amassed over 170,000 views. Anderson can be seen take a tub of Blue Bell ice cream out of the freezer, opening it, licking it, and sticking his fingers in it, then putting it right back on the shelf. Prior to his plea in January, he was able to show police that he actually purchased the ice cream that he licked, and he had the recipe to prove it.
Still, because of the monetary loss Walmart faced from the incident and having to dispose of all of the Blue Bell products on the shelf, Anderson was charged with criminal mischief. Anderson did not start the trend of these videos, and is one of many individuals that made similar videos licking ice cream starting in July of 2019.
