Man Spends 2 Million Yen on Elaborate Costume So He Can 'Become a Dog'

If you're at all like me, you're more than a casual fan of dogs. Maybe you're a dog owner who just couldn't stop learning, or perhaps you're dedicated to rescuing and raising puppies. The point is--all dog lovers show their love in unique, special ways.

For a Japanese man known only as Toco, learning about dogs isn't nearly enough. He's spent over 2 million Yen to 'become a dog!' As @dailymail explains, Toco recently took his first steps outdoors in his custom-made Collie costume.

I've certainly never seen that before! There are so many ways people can feel like their true selves, and if this helps Toco feel fulfilled--why not? He certainly isn't harming anyone by wearing this costume, but he might be making a few dogs confused.

Honestly, the Collie's elaborate costume is kind of impressive. The detangled fur and body shape look fairly lifelike! We're glad it's such good quality considering how much money the man spent. 2 million Yen is the equivalent of just over 14 thousand US dollars!

Of course, no amount of money will erase the haters and the people who find this man's lifestyle rather odd. One commenter shared, "Sometimes desires and wants need to stay desires and wants. Being told no can be healthy." Sometimes, that's true!

I can understand how Toco's costume is so controversial, considering how lifelike it looks, though. If a child approached him thinking he was a large dog, they might get confused or concerned. This video only showed the man's first trip outside in costume, so we don't know for sure how people react when they see him.

What would you do if you came across Toco in public?
