Man shares Instagram hack to reorder photos in carousel posts: ‘This is actually life changing’
A man on TikTok shared an Instagram hack for reordering photos in carousel posts and is now receiving adoration from his viewers, who are describing the trick as “life changing.”
Ramtin Ari (@ramtinari) posted a video showing how Instagram users can change the order of their posted photo galleries. Many people have used this tactic to change the cover photo of their carousel, but it can also work for each slide in a photo dump.

“this is actually life changing,” he wrote in the caption.
The process may initially seem counterintuitive, since it requires users to delete the picture they are trying to move.
“The first step is to go to the photo set of the carousel that you’re trying to change,” he said. “You’re gonna click the three dots in the corner and click edit.”
From there, Ari says to delete the photo from the set. After that, users should click the “Your activity” button in the profile settings, click on “Recently deleted” and the removed photo should show. Next, click on the three dots on the deleted picture and press restore. That photo will go back into the carousel. However, it will now appear at the end.
While many people found Ari’s tutorial helpful, some warned about trying this if the set of photos includes fewer than three slides.
“i’ve been doing this for years but each time make sure there’s 3 photos cuz if u delete it and it becomes two photos ur no longer allowed to do it,” replied @hklover4l_.
Some users also let people know there might be potential issues if there is a video in the photo dump.
“Dont do this if u have videos bc itll make the videos turn into the thumbnail,” commented @xoprinceali.
Many Instagram users have already taken advantage of this trick, but now more have learned that just because the pictures are posted doesn’t mean they have to stay the same forever.
