On May 3, 2019, life as we once knew it changed forever-and not for the better. Louisiana native Sameer Jafri took to Facebook last Friday to share a controversial photo of his fast food meal. "Do y'all peel your nuggets?" he asked, casually...as if this was a normal question. Newsflash, Sameer, IT'S NOT.

The photo, which includes an array of dipping sauces, the peeled breading, and some, um, naked chicken nuggets (sorry for the visual), has garnered 20 thousand shares and 9.4 thousand comments. People-including me!-were left reeling. "What an actual life ruining image," one person said. "Where does this person live because the cops are coming for him," another added. All very reasonable responses, if you ask me.

It's weird. This man savagely ripped apart his chicken nuggets because he actually likes eating them this way. But also, it's apparently not as weird as I-and like a majority of the internet-believes. People are coming out of the woodwork to admit that they too are fans of the bizarre food habit. I guess there's safety in numbers?

Among the countless Twitter users that were "highly offended" and calling Jafri a "danger to society," there are also chicken nugget peeling advocates. "Two of my coworkers just admitted to peeling chicken nuggets how was everyone else's day," @whygulsucks wrote, before adding "make that three." People are outing their mothers, brothers, and friends left and right.

Here are more Twitter reactions:

I investigated further, because you know, that's what journalists do. And here's the thing, people have been copping to chicken nugget peeling for years-openly too! "People need to realise [sic] that peeling chicken nuggets is completely normal," @rooofbradley wrote in 2013. That was SIX YEARS AGO! How have we let this drag on for so long? "Peeling chicken nuggets has and always will be one of my favourite things to do," @nicoladaniels added in 2012.

I, and the internet, will never be the same.
