With two sons in the NFL, Donna Kelce has spent plenty of games cheering them on from the stands. But when she’s watching the big game from home, you'll find her hosting watch parties instead—and she shared her go-to Super Bowl party recipe with us.

Her number one tip for hosting a Super Bowl watch party is to keep things simple—no trick plays needed! “I truly believe that when you’re entertaining, people want to spend time with their friends, and obviously watch the big game, so it’s important to have a lot of little noshes to eat along the way,” she says.

Dips are her go-to party appetizer because they’re easy to set out and don’t require fancy plates or silverware—a must when you don’t want to miss any key plays (or commercials!). “Making dips easy to carry, easy to handle, and easy to go back to, is just better than sitting at a table because nobody’s going to want to do that,” she says.

According to Mama Kelce, the best way to serve dips is to put several different kinds out on the counter (in the original containers is fine, no need to get more dishes out!) and provide plenty of options for scooping: She serves an assortment of tortilla chips, corn chips, and crackers so there’s something for everyone.

The MVP of her appetizer spread is a Tex-Mex dip she’s been bringing to tailgates for years. “It’s a crowd pleaser and perfect for the big game,” she says.

Mama Kelce’s 7-Layer Dip

  • 16oz can refried beans

  • 12oz Heluva Good! Jalapeno Cheddar Dip, divided

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 3 ripe avocados, diced

  • Juice of 1 lime

  • 1 ½ cups Pico de Gallo salsa (drained)

  • ¼ cup jalapeno slices

  • ¼ cup sliced black olives

In a medium bowl, add your diced avocados and lime juice. Season with a couple pinches of salt. Reserve until you are ready to assemble the dip.

Add refried beans to the bottom of your serving dish and spread in an even layer. Next, add the Heluva Good! Jalapeño Cheddar dip on top of the refried beans. Reserve 3 tablespoons of dip and spoon into a small plastic zip top bag.

Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the dip layer. Add diced avocados on top of cheese, then add the drained Pico de Gallo Salsa.

Using the reserved Heluva Good! Jalapeño Cheddar dip, cut the tip of the plastic bag. Drizzle dip on top of the Pico de Gallo. Top with sliced jalapeños and black olives.

Since the dip uses Heluva Good! Jalapeno Cheddar Dip, she partnered with the brand ahead of the Super Bowl to help make tailgating and entertaining a breeze. She recommends putting out a whole spread of different dips—some of her other favorite flavors are French Onion and Buttermilk Ranch—along with her Tex-Mex dip.
